Benefits

The Livonia Area Piano Teachers Forum has been providing education, camaraderie, and business connection for over thirty-five years for area teachers. By joining the organization one is provided non-competitive events which inspire and raise the teaching level of its membership. It is possible for students who excel to enter state-sponsored events which are of competitive nature.

The organization is a connectional one. There are two parent organizations: Music Teachers National Association and the Michigan Music Teachers Association. It is possible to become certified by either or both of these organizations. The certification process is one of study and testing. Certification is not required, but highly supported by LAPTF.

Membership Requirments

1. Membership in LAPTF is limited to piano teachers.

2. Membership in MTNA and MMTA is required for membership in LAPTF.

3. One may be guest of LAPTF for three (3) meetings. After those attendances, one must affiliate with the national, state and local organizations in order to participate.

4. Membership by the teacher is required for all student participation in LAPTF, MNTA, and MMTA sponsored events.

5. Membership is attained through the national office in Cincinnati, OH. (See address and email information elsewhere in this document.)
